Rural America

This is it. The war in America is in the heartland. Where subdivisions are taking over farms and farmland and taking away America's soul.... Its a war that's being lost slowly over the years. Instead of revitalising small towns these gross subdivisions are taking over and who knows when its going to stop......probably won't. A shame

Urban Fresh

What does "Urban Fresh" have to do with the city producing food? Should it be something like "Rural Fresh"? I just kinda find it funny...

Brick Work

I was walking my friends place in Kansas City, when I saw this amazing brick work on the side of a building. You just don't see this type of attention to detail on many modern buildings. Its more like lets see how fast we can build them and for how cheaply can we built them. Many modern buildings lack a sense of style which I think starts with attention to detail that many people over look. This type of brick work is an art form in itself that just adding so much character to the buildings exterior.

Marilyn

I've never been in a cooler bathroom than this one! I wish my bathroom at home was a half as cool as this one. While driving on Route 66 in IL on my way to Kansas City I made a few stops along the way. The "Polka Dot In" was one of the first stops, a totally throw back place from the 1950's in Braidwood, IL. I had to have lunch there which was actually pretty good. It was kinda dead in inside not many people then again it was raining and was a Tuesday afternoon. I'm sure in the summertime this place probably is jumping. Its just one of those types of places that you just don't see much anymore a shame really. If you ever are up for just having to go somewhere random this would be a great place to start. Route 66 is full of these types of places I'm sure and I'm in the process of discovering them its been a pretty interesting ride so far I'll be posting more images from Route 66 soon.

Jesus is Real

I've got a few questions about this image... Who would put up a billboard on the side of I-65 that says Jesus is Real? Maybe just to remind everyone of their personal beliefs. Or so they can show off to their friends and go hey I put that sign up as they are driving by. How much did it cost? Was it a church that put it up or just one person? Whose idea what it in the first place. I love when an image ask questions and makes you think about it, in which its up to you the viewer to make the story up..... This image was taken from the car window going probably 70 mph coming from Indianapolis on I-65.

Its a pretty simple idea photograph what I see on my way to work everyday and anywhere else I might be going. The Holga has bee the perfect camera for this type of project its small, quiet, has an element of surprise, it just lets me think about be more creative in making the images......

Oil

I would say this a photograph that makes a statement about our current oil situation. I have to say I hate polities, but we are in a crisis and something needs to be changed now! A revolution is needed and is wanted by many people in the US. Everyone has to embrace change, its not going to be easy that's for sure. I hope little things like this photograph will opens you eyes a bit more and makes you think about the world we live in and how we all can make it better.
